Refunds & cancellation
Effective November 6, 2026
Cancel any time, yourself
Open Annotate8, go to Settings › Account › Manage billing, and cancel in Polar's customer portal.
You can also get there from your account page on this site. You don't need to email anyone.
When you cancel:
- you won't be charged again;
- Pro keeps working until the end of the month you've already paid for;
- after that, Annotate8 goes back to the free version. Nothing on your computer is deleted.
Uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription. Please cancel first.
Refunds
We don't automatically refund a month that has already started. If something went wrong, such as a
charge you didn't expect or Pro not working, write to billing@constellation32.com and tell us
what happened. We decide case by case, and we would rather refund you than leave you with a charge
you shouldn't have paid.
Polar may also refund you. Polar sells the subscription, and under its own policy it can refund a
payment within 60 days, whatever our policy says. See
A refund doesn't cancel your subscription. To stop future charges, cancel. When we issue a
refund, we also cancel the subscription and Pro ends from that date.
If you're in the EU or UK, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying. Pro is digital content that starts as soon as you pay, so where the law allows, that right ends once you begin using it. Polar handles these requests as the seller; see Polar's buyer terms, or email billing@constellation32.com and we'll help.
Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live.
Who charged you
Polar is the Merchant of Record, so the charge comes from Polar, not from us. Your statement shows a charge
from Polar (Polar Software, Inc.), which may also mention Annotate8. If you don't recognise a charge, write to
billing@constellation32.com before contacting your bank. It's usually quicker to sort out.
